La commune est séparée en deux par le ruisseau Le Coulagnet et ses gorges pittoresques. Elle est composée de 5 villages : Gabrias, Goudard, Chanteruéjols, Baldassé, et Le Rouve.
Son église du XIVème siècle est un bel exemple d’art roman Gévaudanais, simple et harmonieux. Sa cure a été transformée en logements.
Au grès de promenades vous pourrez découvrir la belle fontaine de Goudard, Sainte Pétronille au bord du Coulagnet, de nombreuses croix ou encore le domaine de Cougoussac, demeure aristocratique rurale du XIII-XVIIème siècles et ancienne maison-forte.
Profitez de la grande draille (chemin de troupeaux) située sur la montagne « la Boulaine » qui offre un panorama grandiose, depuis l’Aigoual jusqu’au Plomb du Cantal.
Le chemin « Urbain V » traverse la commune.
