Situation générale
Villey-Saint-Etienne est une commune située dans l’Est de la France, dans le département de Meurthe et Moselle.
A vingt kilomètres de Nancy et dix de Toul, Villey-Saint-Etienne surplombe la vallée de la Moselle à proximité de sa confluence avec le Terrouin.
Les bois
Le Territoire de Villey-Saint-Etienne s’étend sur 1730 hectares dont 500 en forêts répartis en 3 massifs :
le bois de la Ville dit Bois de Toul ou bois du Vieux Canton est le plus important (407 hectares). Il se trouve à l’Ouest du village et jouxte le territoire de Toul.
le bois de Hazelle d’une superficie de 95 hectares surplombe la vallée de la Moselle à l’Est du village et côtoie la forêt de Natrou.
un bois de Belleville d’une superficie d’environ 95 hectares.
