Une idée de balade, à Parthenay: la découverte du Vieux lavoir.
De la rue Grande, un petit chemin rejoint au bout d'une trentaine de mètres les rives du Thouet.
On peut apercevoir des plateaux sur lesquels les lavandières battaient leurs linges. Ces plateaux se relevaient en fonction du niveau de l’eau, au moyen d’un système d’engrenages situé à une extrémité du bâtiment.
