La plus vieille glycine du pays est probablement située ici. La jeune plante qui a été plantée ici en 1816 est peut-être l'un des deux premiers spécimens européens de la Wisteria sinensis, la glycine chinoise, l'espèce qui apparaît le plus souvent dans les jardins ici. L'autre plante aurait été emmenée au célèbre jardin botanique de Kew, à environ deux miles, mais elle n'aurait pas survécu. Le botaniste britannique James Wong affirme même qu'il s'agit de la plus vieille glycine d'Europe et qu'à peu près toutes les glycines que vous voyez en Europe ont été cultivées à partir de cette seule plante.
