La gare de Dumbarton East dessert la ville de Dumbarton dans la région de West Dunbartonshire en Écosse. La gare est gérée par ScotRail et est desservie par des trains sur la ligne North Clyde, à 15 miles à l'ouest de Glasgow Queen Street.
Contrairement à la majorité des stations de la ligne North Clyde, il s'agit d'un quai central, trahissant ses origines de la Lanarkshire et de la Dunbartonshire Railway. Au moment de l'électrification par British Railways en 1961, la formation de North British Railway de Bowling a été abandonnée, avec une courte ligne de liaison entre les formations North British et Caledonian construite. La formation de North British est récupérée entre Dumbarton East et la gare de Dumbarton Central au niveau du site de la jonction entre les deux chemins de fer.
