Stratford est un quartier de l'East End de Londres, dans le London Borough of Newham, en Angleterre. Il est situé à 6 miles à l'est-nord-est de Charing Cross et est à East London. Stratford fait partie de la vallée du bas Lea et comprend les localités de Maryland, East Village, Mill Meads , Stratford City et Forest Gate. Il fait historiquement partie de l'ancienne paroisse et du district de West Ham, qui est devenu la moitié ouest de l'arrondissement moderne dans un Grand Londres en 1965. Historiquement un règlement agraire dans le comté d'Essex, Stratford a été transformé en banlieue industrielle après l'introduction du chemin de fer en 1839.
La fin du 20e siècle a été une période de grave déclin économique, finalement renversée par la régénération associée aux Jeux olympiques d'été de 2012, pour lesquels le parc olympique Queen Elizabeth de Stratford était le principal site et plus tard, le West Ham United FC et British Athletics déménageant au stade olympique.
