Le théâtre national de Grèce est la principale institution publique théâtrale grecque fondée en 1880 à Athènes. L'institution a été ouverte en tant que théâtre royal sous l'impulsion du roi des Hellènes Georges Ier dans le but de promouvoir l'art du théâtre, la culture spirituelle et nationale. Le 3 mai 1930, l'institution est refondée par le gouvernement d'Elefthérios Venizélos et le ministre Geórgios Papandréou pour lui donner plus de prérogatives. Le Théâtre national travaille en coopération avec l'Opéra national. Son rôle est comparable à celui de la Comédie-Française en France.
