Gorizia est une ville italienne frontalière en région autonome du Frioul-Vénétie Julienne dans le Nord-Est du pays. C'était le chef-lieu de l'ancienne province du même nom dissoute en 2017. La ville est également le siège épiscopal de l'archidiocèse de Gorizia.
Gorizia se trouve sur les rives de l'Isonzo dans la région historique de Frioul. La ville est située à l'extrême est de la plaine du Pô, à la frontière italo-slovène.
