Gera Lario est une commune italienne de 1 060 habitants de la province de Côme en Lombardie. Elle fait partie de la Communauté de montagne de l'Alto Lario Occidental et est traversée par le torrent San Vincenzo, sur lequel se trouve également une centrale électrique.
La zone était fréquentée par les Romains. Cela est attesté par une nécropole découverte près du hameau de Sant'Agata et par la découverte, près de l'église de San Vincenzo, d'un mosaïque datant du douzième siècle et d'un linteau d'un temple dédié à Jupiter. Sur ce dernier artefact se trouve une inscription commémorative d'un vœu fait à la divinité susmentionnée par la population préromaine des Auneuniates. De Gera passait également la via Regina, route romaine qui reliait le port fluvial de Crémone à Clavenna en passant par Mediolanum.
