Albe la Longue est une ancienne ville du Latium en Italie centrale, à 19 km au sud-est de Rome, dans les monts Albains. Fondatrice et tête de la Ligue latine, elle est détruite par Rome vers le milieu du VIIe siècle av. J.-C. et ses habitants sont forcés de s’installer à Rome.
Dans la mythologie romaine, Romulus et Rémus, les fondateurs de Rome, sont issus de la dynastie royale d'Albe la Longue, qui, d'après l'Énéide de Virgile, descendent de la lignée d’Énée, un Troyen fils de Vénus.
