Le forum de la Paix est le troisième des forums impériaux. Le terme « paix » n'avait pas la même signification que celle qu'il peut avoir au XXIe siècle ; il s'agissait de la « paix imposée par l'empereur de Rome » ou Pax Romana éventuellement imposée par les armes. Vespasien l'avait d'ailleurs fait construire, entre 71 et 75, pour commémorer sa victoire sur les Juifs de Judée.
