Le château d'Aerwinkel à Posterholt, dans la province de Limbourg, a été mentionné pour la première fois en 1544 et était probablement une ferme. On ne sait pas quand la maison de l'époque a disparu. En 1854, la maison de campagne actuelle a été construite par Pierre Cuypers à la demande de P.M. Geradts. Cette maison de campagne a le statut de monument national. Près de la maison de campagne, il y a d'autres bâtiments qui ont le statut de monument national, y compris une vieille grange et un petit bain.
