Kuinre est une ancienne ville de pêche qui avait autrefois une liaison navigable avec la mer des Wadden. Il y a plusieurs anciens bâtiments et façades, comme la balance à beurre de 1648 (située à 80 m de la route dans la rue Henric de Cranestraat). Lors du drainage de la poldre du Nord-Est, des vestiges de deux châteaux ont été découverts, notamment ceux du chevalier voleur Henri de Crane. Vous trouverez les restes sur le tertre du château dans la forêt de Kuinder.
