Haalderen est un petit village dans la commune néerlandaise de Lingewaard. Haalderen comptait le 1er janvier 2009 1958 habitants. (Source CBS). Sur quelques terrains élevés, qui ne se retrouvaient pas sous l'eau en hiver, vivaient déjà depuis au moins 5 siècles avant le début de notre ère des familles de paysans. Après la construction des grandes digues, l'Essenpas devint le noyau de Haalderen. La cour fortifiée reçut une église, ce qui marqua le début de Haalderen. Les établissements à Haalderen comprenaient Groot Baal, Essenpas et Sallandsgoed.
