Swalmen est un quartier de Roermond dans la province néerlandaise du Limbourg. Swalmen est situé entre la Meuse et la frontière allemande qui lui est parallèle ; la ville allemande voisine est Brüggen.
Le village de Swalmen est nommé d'après la rivière Schwalm qui, venant d'Allemagne, se jette dans la Meuse sur le territoire de Swalmen.
