Le Pont Willem-Alexander est un pont à haubans sur la Waal entre Echteld et Wamel / Beneden-Leeuwen au Rkm 910,8. La N323 relie le pays de Maas et Waal à l'A15 et à la Betuwe. Le pont a été exploité jusqu'au début de 1996 comme un pont à péage pour amortir les coûts de construction. Le pont a été construit pour mieux desservir le pays de Maas et Waal et pour générer plus de revenus pour les entrepreneurs de Tiel. Avec l'augmentation du trafic fluvial sur la Waal, il devenait de plus en plus difficile d'utiliser les bacs, d'où la décision de choisir un pont.
