La chapelle a été conçue par l'architecte groningois Antonius Theodorus van Elmpt et a été construite en 1915. La chapelle est construite dans un style rationaliste, datant de la première moitié du 20e siècle. La chapelle a une forme de croix, où les deux toits à pignons se croisent. À l'intersection des deux toits, se trouve un lanternon dans lequel suspend une cloche. À l'arrière se trouve une abside et à l'avant un porche. La chapelle est quasiment restée intacte. Dans les vitraux, on trouve des symboles chrétiens tels qu'une colombe et une coupe de vin. La chapelle a été dédiée à Saint-Egbert. Depuis la fin des années 2000, la chapelle est administrée par les jésuites.
