La forêt Mastbos se situe au sud de Breda, à la périphérie de la ville, au-delà de l'A16, près du quartier Ruitersbos à Breda Sud. C'est la forêt la plus connue et la plus fréquentée de Breda et elle jouit d'une grande renommée nationale. Son nom provient des nombreux pins rouges qui étaient autrefois appelés 'arbres à mât'. Des mâts de navire, entre autres, en étaient fabriqués.
