De nombreux cafés ont vu des gérants derrière le bar de café De Noordse Plassen à Noorden, Ko Kas était le dernier. Il avait 66 ans en 2018 et juge que 20 ans c'est suffisant. En janvier 2019, un incendie a éclaté dans le café De Noordse Plassen, désormais fermé, situé sur la Voorweg à Noorden. Depuis lors, l'ancien café est entouré de barrières de construction.
