Withuis est un beau noyau composé de rubans, où se trouvait autrefois le poste-frontière officiel entre les Pays-Bas et la Belgique. Vous y trouverez encore des traces de bureaux de douane, d’un garage, de la station-service Caltex de 1953 de l’architecte Schinkel et d’établissements de restauration. Il convient également de noter le grand nombre de bâtiments monumentaux, qui ont tous été construits dans la première moitié du 19ème siècle sur ordre de Jan Pieter Nolens. C’est toujours « l’entrée » d’Eijsden depuis la Belgique.
