Le magnifique domaine au cœur d'Aalbeek a une histoire mouvementée. Des bâtiments d'origine, il ne reste que le pavillon rénové de style néoclassique, la Villa Aalbeek. Sur l'ancien domaine, on trouve encore quelques arbres rares, dont un énorme séquoia avec un périmètre de près de cinq mètres ! Près de la Villa Aalbeek se dresse une colonne avec l'inscription latine ‘Aalbeek centrum orbis’ : Aalbeek comme centre du monde, en raison de sa situation centrale en Basse-Lotharingie et en Europe de l'Ouest, ‘le vieux continent’.
