Ce petit canal d'évacuation qui coule vers le sud-ouest commence au sud de Leersum et se jette 6 kilomètres plus loin dans la Kromme Rijn près de Wijk bij Duurstede. Les zones basses derrière la digue du Neder-Rijn (cette digue est à tort appelée Lekdijk) près d'Amerongen, y compris le domaine de Kolland, alimentent ce petit canal d'évacuation. La digue le long du wetering d'Amerongen est étroite et très fréquentée.
