Fort Sabina, la 'grande dame' de la ligne d'eau du Sud, est l'une des plus grandes et des plus intactes des fortifications brabançonnes. Avec les forts De Hel, Bovensluis (Numansdorp) et Frederik (Ooltgensplaat), le fort Sabina formait un cercle autour de Willemstad. Un front solide qui nous défendait contre les Anglais. Plus tard, Sabina a également embrassé ses citoyens : elle leur a offert une protection pendant la Seconde Guerre mondiale. Dans les années cinquante et soixante, le fort Sabina servait de stockage de munitions.
