Matosinhos est une ville et une municipalité portugaise. Elle est limitée par l'Océan Atlantique à l'ouest et par la ville de Porto au sud, et fait partie du Grand Porto. Au recensement de 2011, la ville en elle-même était peuplée de 49 486 habitants, et la municipalité comptait 175 478 habitants. Les migrations depuis les environs ont été importantes au XXe siècle. La ville est la ville natale d'Álvaro Siza. C'est aussi la ville où le poète Florbela Espanca mourut : une bibliothèque locale porte d'ailleurs son nom. Matosinhos est un centre commercial, balnéaire et industriel. Elle bénéficie d'été chauds et de belles plages.
