Skokie est le terminus nord ouest de la ligne jaune du métro de Chicago. La station se trouve sur Dempster Street à Skokie en banlieue nord de Chicago.
Construite sur base des plans de l’architecte Arthur U. Gerber, à la demande de Samuel Insull, en 1925 dans le cadre de la création d'une nouvelle ligne à grande vitesse afin de contourner le North Side Main Line, la station de Dempster appartenait à la North Shore Line Company qui a cessé ses activités en 1963 en cédant ses voiries à la Chicago Transit Authority qui les intégra dans le ‘L’.
