Le vol 529 Atlantic Southeast Airlines était un vol entre l'aéroport international Hartsfield-Jackson d'Atlanta et l'aéroport international de Gulfport-Biloxi à Gulfport, Mississippi. L'Embraer EMB-120 qui assurait ce vol s'est écrasé peu après le décollage le 21 août 1995. Des 29 personnes à bord, 10 trouveront la mort dans l'incendie causé par l'accident.
La cause de l'accident est attribuée à la fatigue de l'hélice métallique du moteur gauche. Alors en plein vol, le moteur gauche se disloque et abîme le fuselage de l'avion à 18 000 pieds. Les pilotes décident de revenir vers l'aéroport d'Atlanta et tenter un atterrissage d'urgence. Cependant l'appareil est trop endommagé et finit par percuter des arbres et se disloquer dans un champ avant de prendre feu.
