L'Unterinntal è la parte della valle dell'Inn che l'Inn attraversa a partire dall'immissione della Melach a Zirl, a pochi chilometri a ovest di Innsbruck, fino al confine bavarese. È la principale area di insediamento, economia e traffico del Tirolo. L'Unterinntal tirolese non è da considerarsi equivalente all'Unterland tirolese, ma ne forma solo una parte; l'Unterland comprende anche tutte le valli secondarie a est della Tirolo Settentrionale. La zona intorno a Innsbruck viene occasionalmente considerata separatamente e allora è chiamata Media valle dell'Inn.
