Come nessun altro, la maestosa Chiesa di San Amandus (1489-1547) domina la vasta piazza di Geel. Questa chiesa decanale è un bellissimo esempio di gotico brabanzone e gotico in mattoni del Kempen. Inoltre, essa possiede un interno barocco unico, tra cui un organo della chiesa del primo XVIII secolo, e un'enorme collezione di oggetti d'arte religiosa.
Una salita attraverso strette scale a chiocciola ti porta subito sotto le campane della Chiesa di San Amandus. La torre alta quasi 60 metri è letteralmente il punto più alto della piazza di Geel e dei suoi dintorni. Sulla facciata sud della torre esagonale in pietra bianca è stato collocato un monumento che ricorda la Guerra dei Contadini. Alla fine del secolo scorso, la torre è stata completamente restaurata. In caso di bel tempo, puoi godere di una vista panoramica indimenticabile su Geel e dintorni!
