Astene è un villaggio nella provincia belga di Fiandre Orientali ed è una frazione della città di Deinze. Il villaggio si trova lungo il fiume Leie, a 3 chilometri a valle di Deinze in direzione di Sint-Martens-Latem.
Il villaggio è cresciuto molto grazie alla sua posizione appena fuori dal centro città di Deinze e lungo la strada N43 da Gand a Deinze. Sebbene Astene mostri, lungo alcuni tratti della N43, l'assenza di una qualsiasi visione urbanistica, contiene anche alcuni dei luoghi più belli della grande Deinze, come Astene Sas, il Vecchio Leie, Maaigemdijk, alcune interessanti proprietà private e fattorie storiche.
