Nossegem è un villaggio nella provincia belga di Brabante Fiammingo ed è una frazione di Zaventem. Il villaggio è cresciuto con l'agglomerato di Bruxelles, soprattutto lungo il lato meridionale, ed è quindi urbanizzato. Nossegem era un comune autonomo fino alla riorganizzazione comunale del 1977. Il toponimo "Nossegem" risale all'originario Nothengem. Questo toponimo ha origine germanica ed è una storpiatura della parola germanica tripartita Nanthingahaim. La prima parte deriva da un nome proprio che significa letteralmente "coraggioso" o "audace". Haim significa invece abitazione, mentre l'ing a indica che si tratta di una forma genitiva. Nanthingahaim significa quindi "abitazione della gente di Nantho".
