Kobbegem è un villaggio nella provincia belga di Fiandre Orientali ed è una frazione di Asse. Kobbegem era un comune autonomo fino alla riorganizzazione comunale del 1 gennaio 1977. Sotto l'ancien régime, Kobbegem era un feudo indipendente. Juridicamente, faceva parte della circoscrizione di Merchtem, nel quartiere di Bruxelles del ducato di Brabant. Dopo l'invasione francese, il villaggio fu assegnato come comune al cantone di Merchtem del dipartimento di Dijle. Kobbegem mantenne il suo status di comune autonomo fino al 1977, quando si fuse con Asse.
