Bornem è conosciuta per la famosa Dodentocht di Bornem. Questa camminata si svolge dentro e intorno al comune belga di Bornem. Questo evento viene organizzato annualmente dal club di camminata locale Kadee il secondo venerdì di agosto. L'obiettivo della dodentocht è percorrere un tracciato di 100 chilometri attraverso il Klein-Brabant in meno di 24 ore. La Dodentocht è stata organizzata per la prima volta nel 1970. L'ispirazione per la camminata è stata tratta dalla partecipazione alla Nijmeegse Vierdaagse. Ogni anno ora partecipano 8000 a 9000 persone provenienti da Belgio, Paesi Bassi, Germania, Francia e Gran Bretagna.
