Kachtem è un villaggio nella provincia belga di West Vlaanderen e una frazione della città di Izegem. Kachtem si trova lungo il fiume Mandel e il canale Roeselare-Leie. Fino al 31 dicembre 1976 era un comune autonomo. Kachtem ha una superficie di 5,17 km² e conta circa 3700 abitanti. Il nome Kachtem è una corruzione del nome franco "Cackingeheim" e fu menzionato per la prima volta nel 1116. Composto Cack-inge-heim è suddiviso in Cack, il cui significato è sconosciuto; Inge significa discendenti e heim significa luogo di residenza.
