Il sito della centrale elettrica di Zwevegem è indissolubilmente collegato al canale Bossuit-Kortrijk. Questo imponente sito lungo il canale ci mostra nei suoi 9 ettari un perfetto esempio di come una centrale era eretta prima della Prima Guerra Mondiale. Questo in perfetta armonia con un edificio amministrativo, alloggi di servizio e un'area verde.
Recentemente, il sito è stato rinominato 'Transfo Zwevegem'. È un monumento che raggruppa una collezione unica di caldaie protette, macchinari preziosi e generatori.
Questo patrimonio industriale è stato di proprietà di Elektrabel ed è stato trasferito di recente al comune di Zwevegem, che ha inserito il sito in un progetto di riqualificazione. L'edilizia residenziale, il tempo libero, gli sport avventurosi, la cultura, l'horeca e il turismo congressuale sono le principali funzioni di riqualificazione del sito.
