Nel 1230 Libert Jeneffe, signore di Borgworm, dona la terra di Limont a suo figlio Robert. La terra è separata dal dominio di Warfusée-Donmartin. Robert porta il titolo di Limont, sceglie un nuovo stemma e costruisce il donjon. Robert viene ucciso durante la difesa del castello di Borgloon nel 1276 durante la guerra di Awans e Waroux.
