Nella ex Abbazia di Vorst, benedettine risiedettero dal 1105 al 1796. Nel corso dei secoli, la comunità femminile accumulò un patrimonio molto ampio. A sud di Bruxelles, solo l'abadesa di Ter Kameren si avvicinava al potere e all'influenza della sua collega di Vorst.
Solo gli edifici annessi del XVIII secolo dell'abbazia sono stati preservati. Sono di proprietà del comune, che vi ha ospitato un centro culturale.
