I den tidligere Abdij af Vorst boede benediktinerinder fra 1105 til 1796. I løbet af århundrederne opnåede kvindesamfundet en meget omfattende arv. Mod syd for Bruxelles var det kun abbedissen af Ter Kameren, der kom i nærheden af magten og indflydelsen fra sin kollega i Vorst.
Kun de 18. århundredes bygninger fra abdien er bevaret. De tilhører kommunen, som har indrettet et kulturcenter her.
