Architettonicamente, questa costruzione funzionale del XIX secolo è un gioiello da ammirare. La grande copertura metallica costruita sopra forma un rettangolo di cento metri quadrati. È stata progettata dall'architetto Emile Tirou. La struttura del tetto è sostenuta da un centinaio di colonne in ghisa.
