Durante il periodo del coronavirus, Nieuwstraat ha subito una ristrutturazione temporanea con corsie pedonali separate in diverse direzioni, rotatorie e “stazioni di servizio” con gel disinfettante. Tutto per indirizzare i flussi incessanti di acquirenti in modo appropriato. Lasciati trasportare per un momento, ma svoltare a destra circa 50 metri più avanti.
Il Noorddoorgang è un collegamento tranquillo tra Nieuwstraat e De Brouckèreplein. Dopo le gallerie reali di Sint-Hubertus, è stata la principale via commerciale coperta nella Bruxelles del XIX secolo.
