L'architetto Paul Hankar aveva 33 anni quando progettò una casa con uno studio per sé stesso. Questo è considerato l'inizio dell'arte nuova a Bruxelles: nella facciata è chiaramente inciso l'anno 1893. Hankar è più un uomo delle linee nette e della razionalità. Lavora anche con un bow-window, ma qui predominano le linee verticali. Utilizza legno e ferro battuto nella sua facciata e gioca esplicitamente con varietà di pietre rosse, bianche, blu e rosa. Il suo soggiorno a pianterreno si apre su una sala da pranzo a doppia altezza con molta luce.
Poco più avanti nella strada, Hankar progettò nel 1897 la casa per il pittore Albert Ciamberlani. Se non sa in che stile dipingeva, basta guardare la facciata. I dipinti tra le due finestre a forma di ferro di cavallo e il fregio in alto sono stati concepiti da lui e realizzati dall'artista della sgrafittura Adolphe Crespin. Ora è la residenza dell'ambasciatore dell'Argentina.
