Questo è l'unico riserva naturale riconosciuta e transfrontaliera del nostro paese. La riserva di 80 ettari è stata fondata nel 1987 e copre la parte non edificata della Marke. Recentemente, quasi tutta la valle di Marke è stata designata come 'Area della Direttiva Habitat' (Natura 2000) e una parte come 'Area di Silenzio'. Nell'azienda storica St. Antoonhoeve è stato allestito un centro visitatori con diaporami e poster.
Vedrai un paesaggio vario di salici polloni, siepi, muretti a secco, ruscelli meandranti e zone umide. Il pascolo estensivo di alcuni appezzamenti è effettuato da galloway, una razza bovina generalmente a pelliccia nera originaria del sud-ovest della Scozia. Sono grandi erbivori che necessitano di poca cura e non sono aggressivi.
