Bellem è un villaggio e deelgemeente nel comune di Aalter nella provincia belga delle Fiandre Orientali. Il villaggio era originariamente chiamato Betlemme. Bellem si trova a circa 16 chilometri a ovest di Gand. La parrocchia di Bellem fu fondata intorno al 1240 come Betlemme. Fu menzionata per la prima volta come Bellem nel 1291. Il villaggio era una heerlijkheid, ma precedentemente conteneva cinque enclave con fattorie appartenenti a Schuurvelde. Nel 1577, Bellem e Schuurvelde furono fusi in un'unica heerlijkheid. Intorno al 1650, fu costruito un castello e Bellem fu elevato a baronia nel 1655.
