Nel 1923, le frontiere comunali e provinciali furono ridisegnate per poter espandere le attività portuali della Schelda sulla riva sinistra. L'attuale confine comunale di Zwijndrecht è stato tracciato esattamente lungo la linea tra i forti e le posizioni difensive. Quindi, letteralmente, stai pedalando e facendo un picnic sul confine comunale tra Zwijndrecht e Beveren.
