La ventesima edizione dell'Artefact Festival di Leuven è stata una ricerca di risposte artistiche a questioni sociali. La domanda chiave era quindi la seguente: può l'arte dissipare la solitudine? Il tema "Alone Together" ingrandisce l'essere soli, la solitudine e la connessione. Siamo più connessi che mai attraverso i nostri smartphone, eppure la solitudine è un problema crescente nella società. STUK ha chiesto ad artisti e musicisti internazionali di iniziare con questo.
Ad esempio, il noto artista di Leuven Bisser ha realizzato un murale monumentale sull'intera parete laterale di Sac à Pain in Maria Theresiastraat. Bisser non è pronto per il suo pezzo di prova perché il residente di Leuven ha già lavorato sui muri a Leuven, Gent, Ibiza e New York.
In filosofia, l' horror vacui rappresenta l'incertezza dell'uomo, che non può vivere con dubbi, incertezze e domande senza risposta.
