Pays des Collines è una splendida area naturale con aree boschive dense (come i meravigliosi boschi di Bois d'Hubermont, Bois de St-Amand, Bois d'Antoing,...) solcata da piccoli corsi d'acqua e con molte terre agricole e prati aperti. In breve: una straordinaria varietà. Pays des Collines è un interfluvio fortemente inciso tra la valle della Schelda a ovest e la valle della Dender a est. Le cime più alte si trovano a circa 150 metri sopra il livello del mare. È una continuazione delle Ardenne fiamminghe a sud della linea linguistica, vicino al paese delle streghe di Ellezelles.
