Il Théâtre de Verdure costituisce, insieme allo Stade des Jeux, il centro dello sviluppo della Cittadella, smilitarizzata dal 1891. La monumentale infrastruttura ludica è stata costruita nel 1908.
Il teatro all'aperto in cemento dipinto in stile Art Déco è stato influenzato dalla Secessione viennese. È costituito da un palcoscenico rialzato, a cui si accede da due rampe di scale, incorniciato da due coppie di colonne e decorato con le allegorie della Tragedia e della Commedia , sotto un frontone.
Lo Stade des Jeux è un grande stadio dedicato a eventi sportivi e ricreativi, dominato da una passeggiata leggermente curva con decorazioni geometriche in stile Art Déco fortemente influenzate dalla Secessione viennese. Il palco reale, con la scritta "Ludus pro Patria" sul frontone, è il centro della composizione.
