Morbio Inferiore è un comune svizzero di 4597 abitanti del Canton Ticino, nel distretto di Mendrisio.
L'insediamento ha origini romane, testimoniate dalla villa le cui fondamenta furono trovate nel 1920. Successivamente vi si stabilì la famiglia De Castello, che costruì una fortezza citata per la prima volta nel 1198 e poi nel 1206 e nel 1209.
