Rezia era il nome di una provincia dell'Impero romano, comprendente i territori alpini e subalpini compresi fra l'odierno Alto Adige, la Baviera meridionale, parte della Svizzera, dell'Austria occidentale e del versante alpino italiano, corrispondenti all'omonima regione storica che deve il suo nome all'antico popolo dei Reti.
I Romani, che diedero il nome all'area e ai suoi abitanti , conquistarono la Rezia e la Vindelicia nel 15 a.C., a seguito delle campagne militari condotte da Druso e Tiberio. Augusto affidò il territorio acquisito ad un prefetto , che era sottoposto all'autorità del legato, comandante dell'esercito della futura provincia di Germania Superior.
