Klotten è un comune nello stato tedesco della Renania-Palatinato, e fa parte del distretto di Cochem-Zell. Klotten conta 1.245 abitanti.
Il comune è già menzionato in un documento dell'anno 698. La ex regina di Polonia, Richeza di Lotaringia, figlia del conte palatino Ezzo di Lotaringia, nipote dell'imperatore Ottone II, soggiornò con i suoi tre figli dal 1040 al 1049 probabilmente a Klotten. A Klotten fece costruire una cappella e una torre abitativa. La sua residenza e la cappella erano collegate da un ponte. Secondo un documento falsificato, dopo la sua morte, avvenuta il 21 marzo 1063, avrebbe lasciato tutti i suoi beni all'abbazia benedettina di Brauweiler, fondata dai suoi genitori, nei pressi di Colonia. La sua sarcofago si trova ora nella Cattedrale di Colonia, a sinistra dietro l'altare principale, nella Cappella dei Tre Re.
