La città giardino di Haan è una città di mediamente popolata appartenente al distretto di Mettmann nel Nordreno-Vestfalia, situata tra Düsseldorf e Wuppertal.
Haan si trova a circa metà strada tra Düsseldorf e Wuppertal nella regione del Bergisches Land, al passaggio verso la Baia del Basso Reno. Economicamente, Haan è influenzata dalla ferrovia del Reno. Architettonicamente e culturalmente, Haan appartiene al Bergisches Land, come dimostrano molte case a graticcio. Con circa 30.000 abitanti, Haan è la terza città più piccola delle dieci città nel distretto di Mettmann. Il punto più alto della città si trova a 213 m sul livello del mare, il punto più basso a 72 m sul livello del mare, e l'altitudine media è di 150 m.
